Installation Procedure
Procedure for installing injectors and other diesel components. Follow each step carefully before starting the vehicle.
Injectors & Other Diesel Components
Complete the following checks and procedures in sequence.
Check the Diesel Oil
Check the condition of the diesel oil for water and impurities.
Check for Iron Particles
Check for the presence of iron particles in the high-pressure pump as follows:
- Step 1: Connect a hose approximately 1 meter in length to the high-pressure pump return.
- Step 2: Place a transparent plastic container at the other end of the hose.
- Step 3: Start the engine and run until the container has approximately 500 ml of diesel oil.
- Step 4: Using a magnet, check the outside of the container for traces of iron particles.
- Step 5: If iron particles are present, remove the high-pressure pump for repair.
Clean the Rail
Clean the rail (gallery).
Clean the High-Pressure Pipes
Clean the high-pressure pipes.
Install the Injectors
Install the injectors normally, but do not connect the harnesses.
Fill the System
After installing the injectors, start the vehicle (without connecting the harnesses) to fill the system.
Connect the Harnesses
After the system is filled and air-free, connect the harnesses to the injectors.
Important Note
The common rail system injectors are very sensitive to even the smallest amount of impurities.
Important
Failure to correctly follow this procedure may void your warranty and result in a warranty claim rejection.
